our backyard grackles, while they can hog the feeders, have heads that when hit by the sun turn all shades of blue, purple and green. it reminds me of the oily stickers from when i was a girl. anyone else remember those?

i took the opportunity to use this week's illustration friday topic of 'fluid' to mess around in photoshop.
i can say with great certainty that i will remain a traditional media artist but there is no harm in experimenting. even with a tablet and stylus, i find photoshop to be restrictive. most importantly, i find the program to eliminate 'happy accidents' which leads me to revert back to a more fussy approach.
