capturing time.

ezchair this sketch pretty much summarizes how i have been spending this long weekend. after last  weekend's holiday, it's nice to kick back with no scheduled events or expectations to meet.
a new year always lends itself to reflection and i have not been immune to this. in looking back, it's often easier to see trends that weren't so transparent at the time. for me, 2011 was mainly defined by wedding preparation and finding my own understanding of the concept of "being married". i suspect that the latter will be a lifelong process of reevaluation, growth and change.
although i shy away from formal "resolutions", i do plan to focus more on my illustration and personal artwork. as with most things, it's a matter of capturing the time and making the best use of it, not just thinking about it but doing it.

i have been tidying up some of my online accounts.
i decided to consolidate my flickr accounts, having two separate ones was becoming a bit of a hassle. i will now be posting my artworks to my "main" photo page: adrndack.
i posted a few new prints at my etsy shop and cross posted them on facebook.
i disabled my portfolio website some time back and am still trying to figure out what to do with the domain. it's inevitable that i will need to reactivate it, but there's so many different web hosts that it's difficult to figure out the best option. any advice or recommendations?
i have also been fussing around on pinterest. it's a fun alternative to using delicious for bookmarking. i like to be able to see all the recipes i've saved for future cooking as a colorful pin board.

it's been too long since i've been able to find time to be in my studio and work.

that internal pressure for perfection and "finished looking" is creeping back in.

lately i am more interested in spontaneous, unstudied art.

ironically, i find it harder to be loose but i know i will find something more important there...eventually.
