i just read about this movie the other day - the woman mena suvari plays is an african-american woman (as the post i saw said - i guess cornrows make you black?) who left this guy she hit on the side of the road and he died. so loosely based in terms of some key facts, but too close for comfort in my opinion. i can't imagine being in his family and seeing this - ugh.
