shelving rock.

 

after an awesome weekend in lake placid full of reckless abandon, adam and i felt guilty for leaving our poor dog crosbi home.  the high peaks resort is a dog-friendly hotel, as is the town of lake placid.  everywhere we looked there was a happy dog.

we decided to take a quick hike up shelving rock on the east side of lake george and let crosbi be in her element.  it was a beautiful fall day, although doesn't it seem that the foliage is a bit late this year?

considering how many times we have been up shelving rock, you would think we would have known about the namesake rock.  we didn't.  all this time we had never actually explored the super short side trail at the top to arrive at the actual shelving rock.  lesson learned.
